Amy (Hellwig) Walters
Amy (Hellwig) Walters, 64, wife of Dennis Walters of Waynesboro, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024 in VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia.
Amy was born on in District of Columbia on February 14, 1960, a daughter of the late Carl Henry and Floramae (Columbus) Hellwig.
Amy was a member of Church on the Hill and served faithfully at Martinās, following her former employment at Pamās Natural Way. She was a devoted wife and an outstanding grandmother who took pride in sharing her grandchildrenās milestones. Amy found joy in knitting, sewing, and crafting, and she had a particular fascination with honeybees. Her free time was often spent watching murder mysteries, cooking, and exploring new culinary creations.
In addition to her parents, Amy was preceded in death by a sister, Carla Louise Hellwig.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of forty-three years, are five children, Elijah Walters and his wife, Lisa, Abigail Peak, Rebecca Walters, Susanna Flores and her husband, Cuauhtemoc āMicā, and Jesse Walters; two sisters, Laura Stagner and Alyce Bonham; and two beloved grandchildren, Nadia and Dominik.Ā
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 in Thornrose Cemetery by Pastor Andrew Williams.Ā
A celebration of life will follow, at 11:00 a.m. at Church on the Hill.Ā
