Allen Bright

October 15, 1954 - September 1, 2025

Allen Tazewell Bright passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 70 years old.

Born and raised in Fishersville, Allen lived a life with an unwavering love for those around him. A gifted singer, songwriter, and steel guitar player, Allen’s music was an expression of his soul—authentic, heartfelt, and deeply rooted in the values he held dear.

In addition to his musical talents, Allen had a long and respected career in site acquisition, working on land deals for cell phone towers. He was known for his professionalism, strong work ethic, and his ability to build trusted relationships in every community he served.

He was a devoted father to four children: Jeff Allen, Lorie Russ, Danielle Kelly, and Kimberly Bright. He was also a proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Allen shared a special bond and deep love with Patricia Richards, who held a cherished place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Ross Sullivan, his father, Raymond Boyd Bright, and his siblings: Danny, Raymond, Mark, and Donna.

Allen’s life was defined by his devotion to family, his love of music, and his quiet yet enduring presence in the lives of those who knew him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the songs that carry his memory.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3pm on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
