Alfred Landon Morris

Alfred L. Morris, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the age of 87. He was born on August 29, 1936 to the late John Franklin and Ruth C. (Roadcap) Morris, and spent his entire life residing in the Grottoes area.

Alfred retired in 1989 from Reynolds Metals in Grottoes and later opened an excavating business. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual leaving a lasting impact on the local community.

Alfred cherished the time spent with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband of over 70 years to Shirley (Hasler) Morris, and their bond served as an inspiration to us all. Together, they created a warm and loving home, raising their children with strong values and instilling in them a sense of determination and resilience. Alfred will be dearly missed by his son, Don Morris and wife, Sandra, and his daughter, Mary Morris and husband, Wayne; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, Alfred is preceded in death by his brothers, Elzie, Melvin F., and Harold R. Morris, and a sister, Virginia Belle Hailey.

Services will be private. Friends and family are welcome to stop by the home.
