Joshua "Joshie" David Daff

October 19, 1990 - November 23, 2025

Joshua “Joshie” David Daff, 35, of Bridgewater, Virginia passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Albero House, St. Mary's Home in Norfolk, Virginia. He had been experiencing a decline in health in recent months. Josh has been freed from the limitations of the physical body and there is comfort knowing that he is finally whole, walking, talking and laughing with those that have gone before him.

He was born on October 19, 1990 and was the second son of Jerry Daff and Nancy Stockner (nee Bryan).

Josh lived at home with his parents and brothers until moving to St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children in 2004. Fortunately, at the time he was aging out of their services, The Albero House for Adults at St. Mary’s opened and he was the very first resident - even getting to cut the ribbon, be on TV and in the newspaper! Josh loved listening to music, enjoying the home’s screened porch and feeling the wind on his face. He participated with the Boy Scouts, delivered meals to the elderly and was involved with numerous other community service oriented activities.

Josh is survived by his parents, two brothers, Daniel Daff (Sarah), Joe Daff (Kaitlin); his stepfather Terry Stockner and stepbrother Nicholas Stockner, his maternal grandmother, Judy Bryan and paternal grandfather, Jerry Doyl Daff. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dale Bryan, paternal grandmother, Carolyn Daff and his step-grandparents, Millard and Betty Stockner. He was Uncle Josh to Kaylen, Kilian, Ella and Connor Daff. He had numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and family friends. Josh was lucky to also have had a “bonus” brother, DJ Reedy.

The family would like to thank St Mary’s Home staff for the 21 years of excellent, loving care they provided Josh. They ensured that he lived his life to the fullest despite his numerous limitations. St. Mary’s was his home and staff treated him as family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on a future date at the Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad. The family asks that those who wish to express sympathy that donations be made in Josh’s name to St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children.
