Wendell L. Roberts

Wendell Leo Roberts, 87, of Staunton passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab.

Wendell was born October 25, 1938, in Burnsville, Virginia. He was the son of the late Francis Graves and Nettie Deeds Roberts.

Prior to Mr. Roberts retirement, he worked thirty years at McQuay.

He loved fishing, golfing, hunting and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Myers (Michael) of Staunton; granddaughters, Clara and Linzee Myers; his great-grandson, Nyle M. Chandler.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty – two years, Betty Lou Stone Roberts; his two brothers, Emmett Calvin and Claborn Edison Roberts; his sisters Marie Jefferson, Genevia Franklin, and Omeda Shifflett; and his grandson-in-law Storm Chandler.

The family will receive friends on Thursday August 3, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton.

A chapel service will be held on Friday August 4, 2023 at 10:00 AM, at Henry Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Morgan officiating.

Interment will follow at Oaklawn Mausoleum & Memory Gardens

The Pallbearers will be Billy Jefferson, Darrell Roberts, Geoff Osteen, Allen Price, Dylan Price, Wyatt Martin, Doug Durette, Steve Alexander. The honorary Pallbearer will be Nyle Chandler.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741).
