Wayne Eric Miller
Wayne Eric Miller, 61, of Staunton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Augusta Health. He was born in Waynesboro on June 23, 1964, a son of Elder Cecil Lewis Miller, Sr. and District Missionary Ruby Jean Miller of Stuarts Draft.
Eric graduated from Stuarts Draft High School and Massanutten Technical Center where he received his Certificate for Industrial Electrical/ Mechanical Skills. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1983 until 1995, when he was honorably discharged, and where he served as a Multichannel Transmission System Operator. Eric worked as an Industrial Electrician and Mechanic for 17 years with Danoe North America formerly known as White Wave. He was a member of Steadfast Church of God in Christ. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and was an avid motorcyclist.
In addition to his parents, Elder Cecil Lewis Miller, Sr. and District Missionary Ruby Jean Miller, he is survived by his siblings: Dwayne Miller of Stuarts Draft, Kelvin Miller (Jumelie) of Richmond, Cecil L. Miller, Jr. (Robin) of Waynesboro, David Stokes (Brenda) of Humble, TX, and Monica Jones of Waynesboro; seven nephews, six nieces, 10 great nieces, nine great nephews; God children, Tia Miller and Marcus McCourt; special friends Celeste Gappa, Susan Hatcher, Richard McCabe, Robert Lafferty, Curtis Pugh and Eric “Big E” Lotts as well as a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 am on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Christ Tabernacle Church of God, 489 N. Winchester Avenue, Waynesboro, with Elder Cecil L. Miller, Sr. officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Steadfast Church of God in Christ Cemetery, Stuarts Draft.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 6pm until 8pm at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr., Fishersville.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Celeste Gappa for continuous care and support as we navigated through this difficult journey. Your unwavering support has been a light in this dark time. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the entire Medical Staff for the care shown Eric.
Eric always told the family: “If you are wanted by the law, I will turn you in, and put some of the money on your books…that way, the money will stay in the family. And, if you do, don’t waste your one phone call on me.”
