Donald Keith “Donny” Kyger, 76, husband of Claudie Jane (Mynes) Kyger, of 124 Stoner’s Hill Road, Raphine, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by family.
Mr. Kyger was born in Lexington, Virginia on November 9, 1947, a son of the late Lyle Harding Kyger and Audrey Ann (Davis) Kyger.
Donny retired from McKee Foods as a truck driver, was a member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, and a lifetime member of Raphine Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kyger was preceded in death by a brother, Sidney Davis Kyger, Sr.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 55 years, is a daughter, Carrie L. Hite and her husband, Bradley of Fairfield; a son, Joe H. Kyger and his wife, Christy of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Maggie Hite, Macey Hite, Lyle Kyger and Katie, Noah Kyger and JoAnna, Emma Kyger, and Calista Kyger; and four great-grandchildren, Lilly, Sawyer, Wyatt, and Audrey.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024 in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Reverend Sarah Hill.
The family will receive friends anytime at their residence.
