Vincent "Tom" Thomas Remcho
Vincent Thomas “Tom” Remcho, Jr., 82, husband of Betty Kay “Kate” Remcho , of Fishersville, Virginia, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.
Tom was born on November 21, 1943, to Vincent Thomas Remcho, Sr. and Katherine Simon Remcho of Delaware.
Tom was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished brother and much loved Gramps. Tom and Kate met at Mars Hill College and were married on June 19, 1965. In their 60 years together, Tom loved to invest his time with his family, and pursuing projects at Laurel Springs Farm, the Blue Ridge Parkway farm he and Kate restored in Floyd, Virginia, as well as lending his expertise and energy to the home and mechanical projects of his children and grandchildren. He was remarkably talented and creative working with his hands. His greatest talent, though, was simply investing his heart in serving his family and others.
Tom retired as a Major in the United States Air Force in 1985, following 20 years of service to his country as a pilot and government contract officer. He continued his work in government contracting in Northern Virginia in the private sector until 2002 when he and his wife Kate fully retired and moved to Fishersville, Virginia. Their union led them around the globe, but the eastern seaboard of the United States was always home.
Those left to cherish and honor Tom include his wife of 60 years, Betty “Kate” (Price) Remcho, originally of Taylorsville, North Carolina; his son, Vincent Thomas “Vince” Remcho III and wife, Candace of Corvallis, Oregon; his daughter, Amy Caroline Remcho Cash and husband, Brian of Fishersville, Virginia, and five well-loved grandchildren, Parks Remcho and wife, Caroline, Nate Remcho, Patrick Cash and wife, Olivia, Ethan Cash and fiancé, Shannon, and Olivia Remcho; as well as his much-loved sister, Carol Dillon of Delaware, and many nephews and nieces.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 2:00pm at Memorial Baptist Church, Staunton, Virginia. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bible Broadcast Network at BBNradio.org or BBN, PO Box 7300, Charlotte, NC 28241.
