Viktor Nikitin

September 18, 1937 - March 17, 2025

Viktor Ivanovich Nikitin, 87, of Bridgewater, VA, passed away at his home on Monday, March 17, 2025. Viktor had an extraordinary life, was born on September 18, 1937, in the Soviet Union to Ivan and Zinaida Nikitin, had a great military career, registered 230 patented inventions, and was a professor of radio electronics at S.M. Budyonny Military Academy of Communications in Saint Petersburg and later was a GM of Firma Riks. He was a talented musician, chess master, and competitive athlete, enjoyed travelling and was available to anyone who needed his help. He loved the outdoors, gardening, and nature, but most of all loved his family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be forever missed.

In 1994 Viktor heard the Gospel, renounced Communism and became a preacher who spread the good news and affected many. Viktor was united in marriage to Iraida Nikitina who preceded him in death in 2015. He is survived by his daughter, Svetlana Nikitina & husband John Doughty; his sister, Idaida Nikitina; grandchildren, Vladimir Nikitin, Ivan Nikitin, Natalie Doughty, Alexander Doughty, Elizabeth Doughty, Rachel Doughty, Anastasia Doughty, Abigail Doughty, Charles Doughty, Homer Doughty, Drew Doughty; great-grandchildren, Stephan, Czarina, Egor, and Isaiah; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Oleg Nikitin and brother, Boris Nikitin.

A service celebrating Viktor's life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service, Bridgewater with Frank Goehringer officiating. Burial will follow at Port Republic Mutual Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service in Bridgewater.
