Vernon James Green

Vernon James Green, 62, of Grottoes, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville. 
Mr. Green was born in Warren, Pennsylvania on December 30, 1961, a son of the late Raymond Louie Green and Jane (Roberts) Green. 
Vernon retired as a store manager from Valley Oil Company and served as a past-president of the Staunton Jaycees. He loved cats and dogs and enjoyed auto racing and traveling to Las Vegas. 
In addition to his parents, Mr. Green was preceded in death by a brother, John A. Green and a half-sister, Bonnie Lee Traylor-Bender.
Surviving, are three brothers, Dennis R. Green and his wife, Bonnie of Schaumburg, IL, Richard D. Green and his wife, Julie of Verona, and Bart L. Green of Youngsville, PA; a sister, Paula G. Morris and her husband, Richard of Churchville; a sister-in-law, Rosie Green of Swoope; an aunt, Karleen Castagnino of Warren, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews. 
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Green Hill Cemetery by Reverend William “Bill” Trice. 
The family will receive friends following the service.
