Ted W. Kanney
Ted W. Kanney of Greenville, Virginia stepped into Glory to be with his Heavenly Father on November 6, 2025.
Ted was a son of the late Grover C. Kanney Jr. and Audrey (Wilkins) Kanney.
He is survived by his mother, Audrey, of Greenville; brothers, Frederick J. (Connie) Kanney of Staunton, John W. (Sherri) Kanney of Stuarts Draft, and Jeffrey W. (Angie) Kanney of Fishersville; a sister, Naomi K. (Rob) Ingram of Greenville; and a special friend, Cheryl Tsakis. Ted had numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews that loved him dearly, he was the fun Uncle.
Ted was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Swoope VA which played a large role in his love for Jesus. For the past year and a half he was his mother's caregiver. He was also an avid gardener with a very green thumb. He would spend hours on his flower beds to make sure they were perfect and they were always beautiful. He'd bring a little bit of heaven down here for us with his gardens. Ted was an animal lover making friends with each one he met. He holds a special place in the heart of his dog nephew, Maverick, who spent many hours on the couch next to him while Uncle Teddy sat with his mom.
Ted shined for Jesus with his love and compassion for others. He led many friends and family to the Lord in their last days and sometimes hours here on earth. We are sure there was a line of those waiting to tell him "Thank you for leading me to the Lord" when he got to heaven. He will be missed by many.
Services are pending.
It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to the Staunton- Augusta Regional SPCA, P.O. Box 2014, Staunton, VA 24402.
The family sends a special thank you to the WFAC, The ER and ICU at Augusta Health and the 4th and 5th floors ICU at UVA for the compassion and care they gave to our brother in his last days and hours here with us.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
