Susan Rose
Susan Glenora (Lassiter) Rose, 75, of Waynesboro, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the Center for Acute Hospice Care in Charlottesville. She was born in Waynesboro on March 27, 1949, a daughter of the late Eleanor B. (Williams) Miller and John Oagle Lassiter.
Susan worked as a homemaker. She was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where she was a member of the gospel choir, the women’s club, and flower club. Susan will be remembered for her great sense of humor, her love of caring for children, and her amazing cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kendra Rose Banks; brother, John Lassiter; and step-father, Alphonso Miller.
Survivors include her husband, George R. Rose; children: Kelly L. Rose ( Mike), David S. Rose (Christina), Stacy C. Rose(Tapeka); grandchildren: Brittany Jones, Kendrick Rose, Kevrick Rose, Cortland Rose, Trayton Rose, India Washington, Brandon Rose, and Aiden Rose; great grandchildren: Aliyah Rose, Kenzlie Rose, Phaedra Rose, Keilynn Jones, Kamarie Jones, and Journee Rose siblings: Lawrence Williams, Barbara Pope, Ron Lassiter (Linda), Larry Lassiter (Roxanne), Tamara Miller, Alphonso Miller (Karen), Keith Miller (Isabelle), and Terry Gatewood (Samuel); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Riverview Cemetery in Waynesboro. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery. A Repast will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 234 Shiloh Ave, Waynesboro, VA 22980, following the graveside service.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kumar and his staff at UVA Health Dialysis Augusta; the nursing staff with UVA Medical Center Floor 3 East, and to Hospice of the Piedmont for their loving care of Susan and her family.
