Sidney "Sam" Allen Moyer

March 18, 1938 - October 24, 2025

Sidney "Sam" Allen Moyer, 87, of Bridgewater, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Brookdale Assisted Living.

He was born on March 18, 1938, and was a son of Edward and Dimple (Sutton) Moyer.

Sidney retired from the Augusta Farm Bureau in Weyers Cave after 42 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Bethany United Methodist Church, and loved to mow, camp, and play softball.

Sidney was united in marriage on December 31, 1956 to Ethel Jean (Michael) Moyer, who survives.

Sidney is survived by children, Janet (Gerald) Fulton, and Eddie (Kim) Moyer; grandchildren, Bruce (Colleen) Showalter, Tiffanie (Michael) Hahn, and Pierce (fiance Kristen Broce) Moyer; step-grandchildren, Ronnie Fulton, Donnie (Shevonne) Fulton; great-grandchildren, Eden Showalter, and Easton Moyer; step-great-grandchildren, Addison and Parker Fulton, Adelyn, Everly, Hartley, Moxen, Lane, Magnolia, and Rosabelle Hahn; siblings, Janet Morris, Barbara (Jim) Miller, Joseph "Bucky" (Kay) Moyer, Larry (Sally) Moyer, Nancy Coffman, and Roger (Barbara) Moyer.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by siblings, Charles, Steve, Freddie, Mac, David, Ray, and Bill Moyer, Judy Wheelbarger, and Hope Burner.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 AM on Friday, Oct. 31st, at Naked Creek Cemetery in Burktown. A service celebrating Sidney's life will follow at 11 AM at Bethany United Methodist Church, with Pastor Blaine Thomas and Jim Harris officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale-Clair Bridge memory unit and Legacy Hospice for their wonderful care of our beloved Sidney, with a special hug to Jill at Legacy.
