Sidney Franklin Garrison, Sr.

Sidney Franklin “Sid” Garrison, Sr., 80, of Crimora passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born February 27, 1943 in Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Jimmy Garrison and Louise (Garrison) Via. On March 21, 1998 he married Janis Lee Kelly. The two shared 25 years of wonderful marriage.

Prior to retirement, Sid worked as a meat cutter at Giant Food for over 25 years. He was a member of Waynesboro Church of Christ. Sid greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to country music, and watching western movies. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lee Garrison and one sister, Rosa Cline.

Survivors include his loving wife, Janis Lee Garrison of Crimora; three sons and their spouses, Sidney F. Garrison, Jr. of Waynesboro, James Garrison, Sr. of Stanley, and Clayton Garrison of FL; sister, Van Carnes of MD; five stepchildren; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the funeral home with Allen Close and Steve Cline officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.
