Shirley Lavenia (Lawhorn) Wimer
Shirley Lavenia (Lawhorn) Wimer, 87, of Waynesboro, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at her residence.
Mrs. Wimer was born in Augusta Springs, Virginia on April 17, 1937, a daughter of the late Haze Herman Lawhorn and Ethel Lucille (Gregory) Lawhorn.
Shirley was self-employed at the North Coalter Street 7-11, which she co-owned with her late husband, Robert Lee Wimer. Mr. and Mrs. Wimer cherished bowling together on a local league prior to his passing. Later in life, Shirley enjoyed bird watching and gardening.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wimer was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Lee Wimer; her second husband, Jerry Allen Colvin; and two sisters, Rita Ray (Lawhorn) Sellers and Patricia “Patty” (Lawhorn) Woods.
Surviving, is a son, Curtis Lee Wimer of Waynesboro; a niece, Ann Marie “Annie” Sellers of Staunton; a nephew, Robert L. Sellers, III and his wife, Melanie of Tennessee; great-nephews, Braeden and Holden Sellers; and a number of cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Augusta Memorial Park by Reverend Michael Herring.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
