Shirley Crawford Snyder

Shirley Crawford Snyder, 89, of Staunton, passed away peacefully at Birch Ridge Assisted Living on Monday, August 26, 2024.  
     She was born on December 16, 1934 in Waynesboro to the late James Raymond and Eunice Pearl (Knicely) Crawford.  
     Shirley retired from GE and Genicom where she was a dedicated employee for over 30 years. After retirement, she worked for the Waynesboro Public School System at Westwood Elementary School as a cafeteria worker.   She was a member of Basic United Methodist Church and most recently attended Middle River Church of the Brethren in New Hope. 
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Garland Snyder; a brother, James R. Crawford, Jr.; and sisters, Eileen Kay Balser, Frances Marie Crawford and Joan Patricia Kobus. 
     She is survived by a son, Charles Raymond (Stump) and wife Chrissy of Verona; and a grandson, Sean Helmick of Verona.  
     The family will receive visitors at Middle River Church of the Brethren on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm. A memorial service will follow visitation at 6:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Kathleen Michael.  
     A private graveside service will be held at Augusta Memorial Park.
     Shirley was an avid lover of dogs, therefore the family requests memorial donations be made to the Augusta Regional SPCA, 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
     Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton has been entrusted with arrangements.
