Sarah D. Dull
VERONA – Sarah Dean (Waybright) Dull, 64, passed away Monday (June 10, 2024) at her residence in Verona.
She was born in Harrisonburg on November 15, 1959, a daughter of the late E. Arnold Waybright and Ileene (Atwell) Waybright Miller. She was employed by Augusta County Schools for many years as a bus driver and most recently as a cafeteria worker. She was previously employed by Staunton Fruit and Produce. Sarah was an active member of Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren. She especially enjoyed being “Mimi” to her beloved grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Belva Gaylor. She is survived by two children, David Hunter Castle III (fiancé Kayla Conner) of Churchville and Patricia Diane Castle of Verona; a sister, Jean Chandler (husband Nolen “Butch” Chandler) of Staunton; two nieces, Cathy Parr (husband Bow) and Valerie Luckado (husband Michael); and five grandchildren, Savannah Figgins, Emmett Castle, Kayleigh Huffman, Aliaya Figgins and Colson Castle.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18 in the chapel of Bear Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Henry Elsea. Burial will follow in Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ben Flory, Sam Ellington, Kenny Via, Bill Via, Tyler Michael and Cody Parr.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
