Sandra Davis

Sandra Rose Davis, 81, of Hagerstown, MD and formerly of Strasburg, VA passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, at Seaton Assisted Living in Hagerstown, MD. 

Mrs. Davis was born in Alexandria, VA on December 5, 1943, a daughter of the late Athol Winston and Mary Walter Mellott. Mrs. Davis was affectionately known as “Rose” and “Grandma” to her family and close friends.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Woodstock, VA and worked in the banking industry for many years as a loan officer. Mrs. Davis loved to travel via road trips, had a mean sweet tooth, and was an avid game show watcher.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years Glenn Donald Davis and a daughter Sherry Marie Davis Shea. 

Survivors include her children Phillip Davis (Jess) and Ariel O’Dell (Josh); her grandchildren Bella and Hunter; her siblings Mary Ann Hudson (Tommy), and Athol Mellott (Violet) along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A funeral service for Mrs. Davis will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday December 1, 2025, at Stover Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Frazier officiating.  Mrs. Davis will be laid to rest with her husband and daughter in Macedonia Cemetery, White Post, VA.  The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to your local ASPCA or the Alzheimer’s Association.
