Ruby Estes
Ruby Frances Estes, 91, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Augusta Health in Fishersville. She was born April 11, 1933 in Waynesboro, daughter of Herman H. Terrell and Lena F. Terrell of Waynesboro.
Ruby was a woman of great faith who loved spending each day reading her Bible, praying and talking with others about God. Many of the final words she spoke on this Earth were talking about and praying to God. She was a member of ClearView Church and many of her beloved friends there will tell you stories of her extraordinary faith and how much they loved to hear her pray.
Ruby also loved spending time with family and friends and always wanted to help in any way that she could. She was known as “Nanny” to her great granddaughter, Halleigh, whom she called “HER little girl” and loved so much. She loved spending every day with her daughter, Debbie, and was thankful and happy to see and hear from all of her special friends and family that called, came to help and visited her in the last years of her life. She enjoyed good food and her favorite was spaghetti. She enjoyed going on vacations with family – especially to Myrtle Beach. She was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves in baseball and loved playing games on her computer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Owen Estes, and her son, Ervin “Dinky” Estes, as well as her sister, Martha T. Cox, and brother, Herman “Roy” Terrell.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah E. Brown, her grandson, Jeremy D. Brown, his wife, Kacy and her great granddaughter, Halleigh, as well as her sister Mary Alice Underwood. She also leaves behind a multitude of other family and special friends, many of whom will be specifically acknowledged during the upcoming Memorial Service.
The Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at ClearView Church, 9 Old Cottonwood Lane, Fishersville, conducted by Pastors John Hamric, Danny Fisher and Kenny Fisher.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ClearView Church, 9 Old Cottonwood Lane, Fishersville, VA 22939.
