Ronald Sherwood Messinger

Ronald Sherwood Messinger, 87, husband of Carole Kay (Deibert) Messinger, of Newport Road, Steeles Tavern, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia. 
Mr. Messinger was born in Slatington, Pennsylvania on October 7, 1938, a son of the late Warren Allen Messinger and Florence Henrietta (Thomas) Messinger.
Ronald retired from Curtis E. Schneck after 40 years as a custom home builder and later went to work for Ty Heilman Construction. Ronald was a dedicated volunteer with Kingsway Food Distribution, he enjoyed woodcarving, and was an accomplished artist. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and made multiple trips to Canada.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; David Messinger, Warren Messinger and Clifford Messinger; and a sister, Catherine (Messinger) Geiger.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 66 years, is a son, Todd C. Messinger of Raphine; a daughter, Kerri L. (Messinger) Ritter and her husband, Brian J. of Middlebrook; three grandchildren, Candice Marie Messinger, Adam John Ritter and his wife, Jessie Daddio, and Jacob Allen Ritter; three great-grandchildren, Juel Duran, Alexia Mishriky and Aria Mishriky; and a number of nieces and nephews. 
In keeping with Mr. Messinger’s wishes, there will be no services.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
