Roland Eugene Palmer

Roland Eugene Palmer, 77, of Strasburg, VA passed away Sunday, April 29, 2026, at his home in Strasburg, VA.Roland was born in Shenandoah County, VA on May 1, 1948, a son of the late Paul Melvin and Gladys Virginia Putman Palmer. Roland worked as a bus driver for Shenandoah County Public Schools. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Roland loved motorcycles and was a member of the Shenandoah America Legion Post 77 Riders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Charles Palmer and Ray Palmer, three sisters, Patricia Jeannette Bromley, Jane Drummond, and Dorothy Welch.Survivors include his wife Sandy Pangle Palmer; his children Michael Palmer, Kathy Childs (Casey), and Justin Palmer (Amber); his grandchildren Phillip Palmer, Colby Childs, Caleb Childs, Yasmin Thompson, Alexis Thompson, and Weston Palmer; two great grandchildren; his siblings Ida Smith, Fay Schindler, and Richard Palmer along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousin, and a host of friends, all of whom will miss Roland dearly.A celebration of life gathering for Roland will be held at the Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.The family asks at expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, 157 E.
