Roger Lee Simmers

Roger Lee Simmers, 79, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at his home.

He was born on July 29, 1946, and was a son of the late George Simmers, Sr., and Zorphia Ellen (Knicely) Simmers.

Roger retired from the City of Harrisonburg after over 30 years of service.

Roger is survived by his companion for over 25 years, Naomi "Jerry" Rosson; a brother, Donnie (Cindy) Simmers; a sister, Carolyn Dickenson; sister-in-law, Debbie Simmers; brother-in-law, Sidney Allman; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters,Shelva Simmers and Linda Allman; brothers, Richard, George Jr., Charles, and Ronald Simmers.

The family will receive friends from 2 PM until 4 PM on Friday, Dec. 26, 2025, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater.
