Roger Lee Perry

April 5, 1953 - January 4, 2024

Roger Lee Perry, 70, devoted husband and soul mate of Cathy (Blackwell) Perry of Heather Lane in Staunton, Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 4, 2024 in the University of Virginia Medical Center.
     Mr. Perry was born on April 5, 1953 in Staunton, a son of the late Ernest Burton and Effie Elizabeth (Sharp) Perry.
     Roger was an active member of Linden Heights Baptist Church and the Path Finders Sunday school class.  He served as a deacon, worked in the food pantry and was involved with Praise in the Park.  Roger enjoyed Southern Gospel music, woodworking, NASCAR, and hunting.
     In addition to his parents, Mr. Perry was preceded in death by a special niece, Megan Lea Marshall; a nephew, Rodney Perry; and a brother-in-law, Roy Pilson.
     Surviving in addition to his wife of thirty seven years, that he cherished and loved unconditionally, is a brother, Donald “Don” Perry and his wife Jo of Stuarts Draft; a sister, Louise (Perry) Pilson of Staunton; a special niece, Anita Fauber and her husband Wilson; nieces and nephews, Nevin and Christy Pilson, Brenda and Rob Via, Ricky and Fonda Perry; many very special great nieces and nephews and numerous great great nieces and nephews that knew him as “Uncle Roger”.   
     A Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in Linden Heights Baptist Church by Pastor Luke Smith.
     The family will receive friends following the service.
     Burial will be private in Thornrose Cemetery.

     Coffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
