Roderick "Rod" A. Morgan

March 24, 1934 - February 15, 2024

Roderick A. “Rod” Morgan, Sr. 89, of Fishersville, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at the Regency at Augusta Assisted Living. He was born in Montclair, New Jersey on March 24, 1934 a son of the late Arthur Milton and Muriel Annie (Husbands) Morgan.

Rod graduated from Ramsey High School in Ramsey, New Jersey. He proudly served in the United States Navy and the Navy Reserves from 1954-1986 achieving the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer and Fire Control Technician. Rod worked until his retirement as an engineering associate with AT&T and later MCI. He was a member of the U.S.S. Laffery Association, Beer Can Collectors Association, and the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association. Coins collecting, beer cans collecting, licenses plates collecting, and Ford Mustangs were a few of his favorite hobbies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Lorraine B. Morgan; son, Roderick A. Morgan, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Kristi Jacobson Morgan; and sister, Elizabeth Winters.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Lorraine (Morgan) Foresman and husband, Henry; grandchildren, Tamera Rae Morgan and Tyler Morgan; great grandchild, Matthew Assar; sister, Jean Vivano; long-time friend, Richard McKinney; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
