Robert Cleminson

August 4, 1936 - August 18, 2025

Bob Cleminson of Waynesboro, Virginia, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at age 89. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 4, 1936.

Bob graduated from Aliquippa High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 1959. A talented athlete, Bob captained IUP’s football team, played baseball, and was inducted into IUP’s Hall of Fame in 2012. He married Barbara in June 1960; they recently celebrated 65 years together.

He retired as regional marketing manager from Exxon after 35 years and later moved to Florida, before settling in Virginia. Bob enjoyed golf, outdoors, skiing, and volunteering, including Wintergreen Rescue Squad, Habitat for Humanity and as a driver for Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

Bob dedicated his career to Exxon, serving as a regional marketing manager for over 35 years. When not at work, he dedicated his weekends to his family. He coached youth football, baseball, and softball, led Indian Guides/Princesses, and served on ski patrol so his family could ski. He was a respected teacher, coach, and colleague. Known for his unwavering integrity and guidance, he inspired generations of students and athletes. Bob cherished family gatherings, helping those in need and cheering for the Steelers. His legacy endures through his warmth, wisdom, and the countless lives he touched.

Those who knew Bob remember his hearty laugh, his stories of family adventures, and the way he quietly offered a helping hand wherever there was need. He found joy in simple pleasures—an early morning walk, a well-struck drive on the golf course, a grandchild’s first steps. Above all, Bob was a pillar of strength and humility, whose door was always open and whose advice was always sought. His spirit of generosity and kindness will be deeply missed by all whose paths he crossed.

He was an active member in King Solomon Masonic Lodge.
