Regina (Kay) Kidd

July 3, 1938 - January 11, 2026

Regina (Kay) Martin Kidd was born July 3rd, 1938 to Kenneth Luther Martin and Mary Elizabeth (Hartle) Martin in the District of Columbia. She lived her life as an angel among us for 87 wonderful years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sibling brothers, Kenneth Martin and Michael Martin, whom she loved.

She was married to Wesley Douglas Kidd for 60 years until his death and was mother to Rosemary Lou, Kenneth Wesley, Jerome Timothy, and Peggy Jean. A grandmother to seven and great grandmother to nine and adored by all of them.

She has extended family on both sides including cousins, nieces, nephews, and each of their families, many who were always in touch.

An avid bookworm, puzzler, and card player she was always busy and curious. She loved to write and send cards to everyone and you felt blessed to receive them. Regina was a true giver, a helper, and one that shared love and compassion to everyone, if you knew her, you felt it. She had a sweet view of life that you couldn’t miss.

She spent the bulk of her career working in various roles at the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Staunton, VA and poured herself into it with dedication and love. Throughout that time she amassed many friends she would call family throughout her life. Always a faithful person, she was a loyal and dedicated member of her church family at Wayne Hills Baptist Church.

Regina passed away peacefully in her home on January 11th, 2026 and will be truly missed. She was a unique, special person and the sweetest you’ve ever met.

Her funeral service will be held Monday, January 19th, 2026 at Wayne Hills Baptist Church, 877 Ladd Road, Waynesboro at 12:00. She will be buried next to her husband and daughter, Rosemary at Augusta Memorial Park. The congregation at Wayne Hills Baptist Church will provide food and fellowship afterward.

A special thanks to John Groome and the staff at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home who are handling her funeral.
