Rebecca Maria Hansel Perrin, 77, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.She was born on December 28, 1946, in Washington, D.C., to the late Roger and Katharine Dobbs Hansel.Rebecca earned her Bachelor’s degree in education at the University of Delaware and her Master’s in Education from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton. She was a teacher for over 40 years in Laurel, Delaware and Culpeper, Virginia. She was a member of Pleasant View Lutheran Church where she was active in the choir. She also embraced her husband’s enthusiasm for antique cars. She was a member of the Antique Auto Club of America, the Classic Car Club of America, and the Horseless Carriage Club of America as well as Willys-Overland-Knight Registry. She was an avid music lover, loved cooking, and spending time with her family.She is survived by her husband, Duane Allen Perrin; her son, Mark Outten and Sallie from Orange, Virginia; her daughters, Kim Tylar and Mike from Madison, and Sherry Klauer and Walter from Mechanicsville, Virginia; her sisters, Anna Michael and Jay from Leicester, Vermont, Diane Harrison and Pete from Owls Head, Maine and Peg Huckabee and David from Arlington, Virginia. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other beloved family members.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Outten and her second husband, Glassell Scott.A memorial service to celebrate the life of Rebecca will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Pleasant View Lutheran Church in Staunton, with a reception immediately following.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (4301 Fairfax Drive, Suite 200, Arlington, Virginia, 22203).
