Rebecca “Becki” Ann Daugherty Driver, 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at AVIVA Baldwin Park in Staunton.She was born on November 1, 1954, in Staunton to the late Merlin “Jack” James Hartman Daugherty, Sr. and Vallie Winnetta Woods Daugherty.Becki was a graduate of Buffalo Gap High School and after working in the Charlottesville Metropolitan Life office for several years, she met and married Milton Driver. She and her husband worked together in their family business, Driver Brothers Greenhouse and raised their sons and were thankful to call the Shenandoah Valley home. She was a devoted member of the Staunton Alliance Church where she served as a deaconess and was passionate about mission work.She found joy in many aspects of life and was known for her wry sense of humor and quickness to laugh. She loved traveling, cooking, and music. She was also captivated by the beauty of nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Becki will be remembered for her love of good wine, visiting with good friends, and her hope and trust in Jesus alone for her salvation.She is survived by her son Peter, his wife, Paige and their five children: Reagan, Jackson, Monroe, Lincoln and Truman, as well as her son, Cameron, and his partner, Nongnaphat Yuanlae. She is also survived by four nieces; one nephew; and numerous grandnieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Casper Milton Driver; her brother, Merlin “Jimmy” James Daugherty, Jr.; her sister, Carol Jo Daugherty (Brown) Brooks; and her nephew, Eric Matthew Brown.Mrs. Driver’s family would like to thank Pam Matthews and the staff of Legacy Hospice as well as the staff at AVIVA Baldwin Park for the kind, compassionate care that Becki received. They would also like to express their gratitude to the members of Staunton Alliance Church for loving and caring well for Becki and for hosting the worship service praising the Lord she trusted and thanking Him for her life.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Staunton Alliance Church in Staunton with the Reverends Paige Adams and Rick Gilmartin officiating. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Staunton Alliance Church’s Urgent Ministry/Benevolence Fund (560 New Hope Road, Staunton, VA 24401) to the Alzheimer’s Association (c/o Rebecca Driver Memorial Fund, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601).
