Rebecca Crabill

Rebecca Mae Yow Crabill (Becky), 83, of Strasburg, VA, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at The Maynard Senior Living Facility in Strasburg. Becky was born on January 7, 1943, in Greensboro, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Carl Jay and Merle Briggs Yow. She graduated from Elkton High School and went on to attend Madison College (now James Madison University), where she met her husband, Ralph. They married on December 27, 1963.

Becky was a loving mother to her three children and volunteered for several different organizations including Girl Scouts and her church. She served as an extra in the summer stage production Balfour Passion Play at the Hupp Mansion (along with her children) for several years. In 1984 she obtained her nursing degree and worked for several years in her chosen profession. She enjoyed many different crafts, reading (especially Harlequin romances), and helping raise her grandchildren.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers Robert Yow and Carl Jay Yow, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Reverend Ralph H. Crabill, her children Margo Mead (Pat), Ralph Carl Crabill (Janice) and Jim Crabill (Vikki); grandchildren Cody Mead, Alyssa Mead, Deirdre Itskov (Jon), Blake Mead, Duncan Mead, Sarah Crabill, Matthew Crabill, and Mike Crabill; five great-grandchildren; and siblings Lena Grant (Bill) and John Yow (Connie).

A funeral service for Mrs. Crabill will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 16, at Stover Funeral Home in Strasburg. The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Please wear something purple (her favorite color) in her honor.
