Peggy M. Huffman

STAUNTON - Peggy Lee (Morris) Miller Huffman, 82, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Born January 27, 1943 in Augusta County, she was a daughter of the late James Clifton Morris and Catherine Garrison Morris.

Peggy was employed by Ethan Allen Furniture Company for many years. Following retirement, she worked at Sunshine Coin Laundry. Peggy thrived on social interactions with family and especially enjoyed events and holidays spent with them. She and husband Bill spent countless retirement hours joy-riding and yard sale-shopping, and shared a love for Gospel and Country music that was special for them. They also enjoyed going out for breakfast and developed many friendships with other “regulars” at Burger King and McDonalds.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, William C. “Bill” Huffman; three of her children, Ronnie Miller as well as his wife Lori, Larry Miller, and Diane Woods; a sister, Carolyn Blevins; and a brother, Jay Morris.

Surviving are three children, Cathy Grogg and husband Kevin of Verona, Richard “Dickie” Miller of Dayton, and Terry Miller of Amherst; son-in-law Darryl Woods of Hinton; daughter-in-law Sharon Miller of Hot Springs; brother Claude Morris of Grottoes; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 9 in the chapel of Bear Funeral Home in Churchville, officiated by Rev. John Smith. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Churchville. Pallbearers will Kyle Grogg, Brandon and Justin Woods, Kemper Morris, Josh Miller and Jayden Lacey.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
