Patricia Coleman Snyder

February 7, 1940 - August 10, 2024

Patricia Coleman Snyder, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born on February 7, 1940, Patricia was the daughter of the late Walker Myers Coleman and the late Katherine Swisher Coleman of Buena Vista, Virginia.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Elsie Greene Coleman; husband, Harold A. Groah; second husband, Raymond F. Snyder; sister-in-law, Alice Groah Pugh and brother-in-law, William Ware. 

She cherished her years as a member of Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon and loved contributing her beautiful voice to the choir. She was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and raised her loving children just a mile from the church.  At Mt. Carmel, she laid to rest the beloved father of her children, next to whom her earthly form shall rest.  Patricia was a Certified Nursing Assistant, who worked in Home Health and volunteered for Hospice.   

Patricia created a loving family legacy and is survived by her son, Michael Groah (Linda); daughters, Jacqueline Kurtz and Maria Wallace (Joseph Williams V); grandchildren, Kimberly Lewis (Michael), Molly Groah, Camden Kurtz (Ella), Benjamin Groah (Karen Meadows), Bryce Holmes (Austin), Summer Wallace and Audrey Wallace; six great-grandchildren: Patrick, Eleanor, Joseph, Adelaide and William Lewis and John Emmett Holmes; sisters, Ellen Ware and Janet Mayo (James), brother Kenneth Coleman (Diane); brother-in-law, Roy Groah (Nancy) and sister-in-law, Peggie Rosen (Melvin Eugene); nephews and nieces, Edward Pugh II, Ron Chiapusio, Tim Ware, Scott Ware, Tamara Hostetter and Dawn Cox. 

The family would like to extend their appreciation to very special friends, Roger and Mary Sherlin Willetts, Dale and Ginny Poynter, Gabe and Nate Carr, and Levi Wallace.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Mt Carmel Presbyterian Church, Steele’s Tavern, officiated by Rev. Jeff Carr. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers:   Edward Pugh II, Ron Chiapusio, Scott Ware, Ian Wallace, Dale Poynter and Joseph Williams V.

Honorary pallbearers:   Camden Kurtz, Benjamin Groah, Austin Holmes, Michael Lewis, Tim Ware and Troy Kurtz.
