Pastor Gregory Lee Miller, Sr. passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at his residence in Waynesboro, Virginia.He was born on November 19, 1942, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to the late Guy Wilbur, Sr. and Ada Viola Harmon Miller.Gregory was a devoted evangelist and an esteemed local builder. He fully renovated The Calvary Assembly of God where he was the Pastor for sixteen years, known for his unwavering faith, generosity and dedication to his community. His final pastorate and the church he built was at Good News Ministries in Staunton, Virginia. He was a Virginia Class A contractor where he built homes for Miracle Modular in Bedford, Virginia. Beyond his professional achievements he thoroughly enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was also deeply involved in local missions, always lending a hand to those in need. He had a profound desire to make a difference in the lives of others. A global traveler, Gregory dedicated much of his life to missionary work, spreading his message of hope and love across the world. His missionary journey took him to various corners of the globe where he worked tirelessly to bring comfort and aid to communities in need.He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, who he married on March 4, 1964, Romona Mary Pittman Miller; his children, Gregory L. Miller, Jr. (Teresa), Brian Paul Miller (Amy Eavers Shover), Joel David Miller (Leslie) and Tammy Miller Wiles Nowakoski (Douglas); his brother, Guy W. Miller, Jr.; five grandchildren, Ryan, Kabell, Jeremy, Matthew, Madeline and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Lou Dunlap.A visitation will be Thursday, July 26, 2024, at 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM at Good News Ministries in Staunton, Virginia. A service will follow from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Pastor Wanda Myers will be officiating the service. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, July 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be made to Good News Ministries (18 Kerry Lane, Staunton, VA. 24401) or Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah (64 Sports Medicine Dr., Fishersville, VA.)
