Olivia "Libby" Anne (Fitzgerald) Dameron

Olivia Anne “Libby” (Fitzgerald) Dameron, 84, widow of Freddie Winfred Dameron, of Waynesboro, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Augusta Nursing and Rehab in Fishersville. 
Mrs. Dameron was born in Nelson County, Virginia on November 29, 1941, a daughter of the late Ottis Owen Fitzgerald and Eula Beatrice (Coffey) Fitzgerald. 
Libby retired from Genicom after 31 years of dedicated service. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her garden, reading, and watching stock car racing. More than anything, she loved being with her family. 
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her husband of 58 years, Mrs. Dameron was preceded in death by a son, Robert Ray “Bobby” Dameron; her brother, Roger Fitzgerald; and five sisters, Madeline Rhodes, Florine Painter, Ruthie Dedrick, Edith Stinnett, and Dottie Brown. 
Surviving, is a son, Timothy C. “Timmy” Dameron and his wife, Sherry of Waynesboro; a daughter, Sherry L. Allen and her fiancé, Randy of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Jason Allen, Shannon Cook, Adam Dameron, Candice Davis and her husband, Adam, and Savanah Dameron; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew Dameron, Kyleigh Davis, Austin Davis, Camden Davis, Liam Davis, Nova Dameron, and Sadie Ann Allen; special friends, Connie Brown and Dena Terrell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Augusta Memorial Park by Pastor Doug Henderson. 
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
