Norma Bixby

Norma Jean Cronk Bixby, widow of Douglas Lowell Bixby, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Augusta Nursing and Rehab in Fishersville, Virginia. She was born on September 6, 1945 to Howard Brown and Mary Alene Powers Cronk.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Sams and her brother, Howard (Buddy) Cronk.

Norma Jean is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Yeager (Harold Payne) and her beloved niece, Patricia Yeager Earhart (Chris Browe). She is also survived by great-nephews, Elijah Hunter Earhart and Alexander James Earhart.

She will be remembered for her love of animals, especially her pets, which included West Highland terriers, Maine coon cats and exotic birds.

Her private graveside service will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Augusta Memorial Park.
