Nancy Carol (Thomas) Coiner

Nancy Carol (Thomas) Coiner, 80, of Staunton, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Coiner was born on August 2, 1945, the daughter of the late Everett A. Thomas and Mary Mabel (Schooler) Thomas in Staunton, Virginia. 
She graduated from Churchville High School on June 1, 1962, and Elizabeth Brant School of Business June 5, 1964. Nancy retired from Augusta Health. She enjoyed camping, travel and cruises, and was a registered pilot. Nancy was active in the Verona United Methodist Church. 
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Russell (Russ) Edward Coiner; and her brother, Garrett (Ox) Wilson Thomas. 
She is survived by her step-daughter, Rosalyn Coiner Zettlemoyer; grandson, Robert (Rusty) Zettlemoyer and his wife, Erin, of Richmond; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Verona United Methodist Church, 406 Lee Hwy, Verona, VA 24482. 
The family will receive friends after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Nancy’s name to Verona United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 47, Verona, VA 24482.
The family extends their thanks for the amazing support from her friends, the Mahjong Group, camping and travel companions, her church family, and the staff of AMC and Hospice of the Shenandoah. 
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
