Nancy A. (Bottenfield) Miller Melady

Nancy A. (Bottenfield) Miller Melady, 61, wife of Bob T. Melady, of 147 Shirey Road in Staunton, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Jesus has gained an earthly angel.
Mrs. Melady was born on February 16, 1963 in Staunton, Virginia, a daughter of the late Donald Thomas and Jewel (Curry) Bottenfield.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Melady was preceded in death by her first husband, Chuck Miller and her brother, Bill.
Nancy was a graduate of Buffalo Gap High School. She was passionate about childcare her whole life and began her journey as an assistant teacher at Riverheads Elementary School and Bethel Preschool. Nancy was then led to open her home to the community where she cared for multiple generations of children for over 40 years. She loved animals, bingo, lottery, baking, sports, gardening, family game night, a good bargain and especially ALL of her kids.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, is a son, Philip Miller and wife, Meagan; daughters, Jessica Miller, Amanda Driver and husband, Joe; step-children, Robert Melady, Katie Melady, Eileen Truex and husband, Dan, James Melady and wife, Melinda, Megan Melady, Mark Melady and wife, Sam; siblings, Faye, Danny, Linda and Chris; twenty-two grandkids and eight great-grandbabies; and many community children she considered like her own.
Active pallbearers will be Philip, Mark, Joe, James, Hadyn and Gabe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allie, Karper, Matthias, Kaitlyn, Brexton, Hannalynn and Madelyn. 
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Rob Marsh and Nancy’s niece, Christina.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Church on the Hill, 100 Foursquare Lane, Fishersville, VA 22939, officiated by Pastor Larry Strickler. 
Private graveside service to follow.
Family will welcome guests for a “Celebration of Life” at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 334 Mt. Tabor Road, Staunton, VA 24401 at 5:00 p.m.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the V.F.W. Post 2216, 212 Frontier Drive, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
