N. Lee Robbins
SWOOPE – Nelson Lee Robbins, 86, of Swoope, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 in his home following an extended illness.
Lee was born in Corbin, Kentucky on September 18, 1937, the son of Paul Leroy Robbins and Euna Evelyn (Eaton) Robbins Runge.
Lee served in the U.S. Marine Corp as a young man. He completed ministerial training at Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri and was ordained as an Assemblies of God minister in 1962. He served as a soloist for Revival Time and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and was a gospel singer and crusader for PTL for many years, and recorded eleven albums. After moving to the Shenandoah Valley, he and is wife Becky traveled throughout the region in an evangelistic capacity and served in prison ministry. He later served as pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in Staunton.
His beloved wife, Becky (Givens) Gale Robbins, preceded him in death by one day, on July 28, 2024. Lee was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Ruth Robbins; and a sister, Judy Kyllonen. Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Lee Robbins and wife Mari Nell, and Michael Nelson Robbins and wife Joy, all of Fresno, Calif.; two step daughters, Allison Gale of Marietta, Georgia and Martha Gale Cross of Waynesboro, Virginia; one sister, Joanna Parker of Visalia, Calif.; and five nieces, Kathy Parker, Janey Parker, Kristie Hollis, Robin Eschbach and Connie Hammer.
A burial service was held privately in Green Hill Cemetery, Churchville, Virginia.
