Michael Randall
Michael William Randall, 59, of Grottoes, VA went to be with his greatest love, Jesus Christ, on March 26th, 2026.
Through the ups and downs of Michael's life he had an unwavering love for Jesus. We find comfort in knowing his beautiful singing voice is in heaven praising God.
Michael was born on June 16th, 1966 to Amos and Irene (Reeves) Randall. He often told stories of his childhood, hunting in Highland County with his Daddy and the outstanding love his Momma always showed him.
In Michael’s younger years he spent the majority of his time on a baseball field, practicing his pitching in the back yard of his childhood home, or playing with many of his childhood friends on 7th street. At a young age he began to help out at his uncle’s saw mill in the beautiful mountains of Grottoes. He often told stories of his days there and how much he cherished every chance he got to be with his family at the Saw mill.
Michael’s high school years consisted mostly of baseball representing the Spotswood Trailblazers. He was one of the star baseball players for Spotswood High School and a beloved team mate. He often spoke of the “hot seat” aka third base where he spent the majority of his time on the field. The great thing about him was he was the jack of all trades for his team. There was not a position he could not play. He then graduated from Spotswood High School as the class of 1984.
Two short years later he welcomed his first daughter, his “Riggs” (Candace.) Up next he had his one and only son, “Buckster Brown” (Brian.) Thirteen years later he welcomed his second daughter, “Boogaroo” (Mychaela.) and at last he had his baby, “Mookie Mook” (Cayleigh.)
Not only was he a beloved father, he was also the greatest “PawPaw.” He loved each of his grandchildren and always knew how to light up their world. He is preceded in death by his first grandson, Kweli Pouncey. Michael is survived by his grandson, Keon Burns, granddaughter, Skyler Randall, granddaughter, Khaleesi Burns, granddaughter, Lily Randall, Grandson, Kingston Randall, and his last granddaughter, Virginia Riggleman.
Michael was well known as the kindest, hardworking goof ball. If he was known for anything, he was known for being the ultimate Mr. Mom. He loved all four of his children immensely. Not a day went by that he did not love his children and his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Irene (Reeves) Randall. His grandparents, William and Virginia (Morris) Reeves. Grandparents, Michael and Georgia (Frazier) Randall and his younger sister, Cathie (Randall) Shull. He is also preceded in death by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is survived by his sisters, Pamela Breeden, Lisa Cortez, husband Pasqual, Crystal Curry, Husband David and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, April 1st, at 6:30pm at Johnson’s Funeral Service in Grottoes with Pastor Jim Kite presiding. Please join the family in celebrating the beautiful person that Michael was.
