Maxine Hollar Boyers, 99, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at King's Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center in Staunton. She was born on May 27, 1925, in Singers Glen to Forrest Hunter and Vera Virginia Hill Hollar.She graduated from Linville-Edom High School in Rockingham County and was also a dedicated member of the Cherryvale United Methodist Church in Staunton.Her hobbies included baking delightful treats, creating beautiful pieces through sewing, and enjoying the great outdoors while camping. These activities brought her immense joy throughout her life. She will forever be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering love for her family, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Julius Marvin Boyers, a former chief of police for the City of Staunton; her son, Ronald Lee Boyers; her brothers, Leonard Quentin, Clarence Raymond, and Leon Hollar; her sister, Mabel Virginia Hollar Miller; her daughter, Pamela Jay Boyers Knott; and her grandsons, Jason Wayne McAllister and Joshua Boyers.She is survived by her son, Russell Dale Boyers and his wife, Deborah; her daughter-in-law, Chrystal Boyers; her son-in-law, Steven Knott; her grandson, Cody Russell Boyers and his wife, Sarah; and her great-grandson, Jordan Boyers.In addition to her family, Maxine leaves behind her cherished friends, Linda Harris and Lawana Mayo.A private graveside service to honor and celebrate Maxine's life will be held at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton with the Reverend Jonathan Greer officiating.It is suggested that those desiring may make memorial contributions to Cherryvale United Methodist Church (709 Cherry Hill Drive, Staunton, VA 24401).
