Mary Youngblood
Mary Josephine Youngblood, 75, of Staunton, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Augusta Health. She was born in Springfield, Illinois on February 5, 1950, a daughter of the late Joe Youngblood and Edith Massey.
Mary received her bachelor degree from Southern Illinois University and her master degree from the University of Louisville. She worked as an Art Therapist until her retirement. Her greatest love was art and she did everything from pen ink to watercolor. She also enjoyed baking and selling her local biscotti. Mary had her struggles in life, but she found so much love and support from her friends at AA, who become a large part of her life. She will be missed by her family and friends, who will remember her for her spontaneous nature and free spirit.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Mary Camille Moodey (Dale Winters) of Woodland Park, CO; granddaughter, Allie Camille Ossinger of Colorado Springs, CO; sister: Wendy Zaremba (James) of Barrington, Illinois, Elizabeth Anthony of El Paso, TX, and Margaret Jones of Stuarts Draft, VA; nephew, Matthew Zaremba (Kelli) of Augusta, GA; niece, Megan Oster (Phil) of St. Charles, Illinois; as well as extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Augusta Health ICU staff for their compassionate care and to Mary’s neighbor John, for his friendship and help taking care of Mary’s beloved cat, Ralph, during this difficult time.
