Mary O'Dell

Mary Elizabeth O’Dell, 76, of Staunton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born on June 20, 1947in Griffin, Georgia, daughter of the late Emory Leonard O’Dell and Dorothy Elizabeth Jones O’Dell.

Mary Elizabeth was a retired line worker with Westinghouse Electric, a member of the Church of Christ, Raleigh, North Carolina and a graduate of Broughton High School, Raleigh. She loved to travel and was a “foodie” who enjoyed trying dishes at various restaurants.

The family would like to express appreciation to King’s Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation in Staunton and to her other friends and neighbors in the Staunton community for the care they’ve shown Mary Elizabeth.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert O’Dell and Edward O’Dell and her sister, Kathy Frank.

She is survived by her sister, Geraldine Penny and husband, Jimmy Penny of Garner, North Carolina; her nephews, Robert O’Dell, Jr., Emory O’Dell and John Frank and a niece, Theresa O’Dell.
