Mary Grace (Halterman) Wimer

Mary Grace (Halterman) Wimer, 81, of Churchville, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. 
Ms. Wimer was born in Highland County, Virginia on December 27, 1942, a daughter of the late Ottie Richard Halterman and Louzania Katherine (Wimer) Halterman.
During her years of good health, “Nanny” enjoyed going with granddaughter, Nichole, to yard sales. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the Highland County Fair, and the Churchville Carnival. She was loved by many and never met a stranger. 
In addition to her parents, Ms. Wimer was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Donnie Halterman; and a great-grandson, Ka’trell Dabney.
Surviving, is her beloved son and best friend, Richard “Junior” Halterman of Churchville; a sister, Lillie Lowry of Staunton; four grandchildren, T.J., Nichole, Katie, and Dylan; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dallas Waybright; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. 
A memorial service will be held at a later date. 
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
