Mary Alice Raines

Mary Alice Raines, 72, passed peacefully on the morning of July 26, 2024, surrounded by family.

She was born October 12, 1951 to George and Lorena Sheehan in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She worked for many years at General Electric/Genicom in Waynesboro before retiring from RR Donnelly in Harrisonburg. She was active with Mt. Pisgah Church in Mount Sidney, in their women's group and volunteered with Verona food pantry.

She is survived by daughters Amy Raines, Amanda Sheets and husband Patrick, and Amber McDaniel; grandchildren, Adrienne, Autumn, Ashley, Allison, Anna, Nicholas, and Kholton; great-grandchildren, Verity, Royalty, Trenton, Wyatt, and Liam; sisters, Patricia Via, Pam Sheehan, and Janice Grose; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charlie and grandson, Corbin.

A special thank you to her caregivers Ashley Miller, Kimberly Eustler, and Kathy Raines.

A service celebrating Mary's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Mt. Pisgah Church with Rev. Edward Pruitt and Pastor Drew Showalter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery and a meal will follow in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Verona food pantry or Mt. Pisgah Church.
