Mark Hamilton Price

Mark Hamilton Price, 60, of Dayton passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024 at his home.

He was born on October 26, 1963 and was a son of Joseph Lee "Joe" Price of Bridgewater, and the late Nancy Ruth (Darnell) Price.

Mark was the By Products Coordinator for Lakeside Books (formerly Donnelly). He grew up in the Presbyterian Church and had attended Spring Creek Church of the Nazarene. Mark loved the outdoors, being the camp cook while hunting in Colorado, riding horses and motorcycles. He was an avid cook and loved to BBQ and made the best homemade BBQ sauce. He loved to play Santa Claus. He loved cooking for Ellie and his VMI Cadets. Mark enjoyed music and playing the drums with his music buddies.

Mark was united in marriage to Betty (Reese) Price.

Surviving in addition to his wife and father are his daughters, Ellie Miller and Shyanna Maldonado; sister-in-law, Susie Swecker and husband Darin; brothers-in-law, Bill Reese and Sam Lapsley; uncle Jim Price and wife Connie; numerous cousins and a multitude of friends.

He was welcomed to his eternal home by his mother, Nancy Price and sister, Kimberly Jo Price Lapsley.

A service celebrating Mark's life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church with Mark Reese and a cousin, Gordon Jones officiating. Following cremation, Mark's cremains will be interred at Hollywood Cemetery in Elkin, NC with his mother and sister.

The family will receive friends at the Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service in Bridgewater on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA, PO Box 413, Harrisonburg, VA 22803.
