Marian H. Conner

WAYNESBORO – Marian Faye Hamilton Conner, 85, of Waynesboro, passed away Tuesday (May 14, 2024) in her home.

Born April 17, 1939 in Augusta County, she was a daughter of Olon Albert Hamilton and Ellena Faye (Bennett) Hamilton Armstrong. She graduated from Weyers Cave High School and completed the nursing program at Lynchburg General Hospital. During her career as a registered nurse, she served in numerous locations, including Kings Daughters’ Hospital, Waynesboro Community Hospital, Western State Hospital, the Waynesboro Health Department, Crompton-Shenandoah, and the District Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Calvin Ray Conner; and sisters Ann Paige Hamilton and Joan Hamilton Frenger. Surviving are two children, Phillip Randolph “Randy” Conner (wife Caren) of Waynesboro, and Donna Conner Liptrap (husband Jon) of Stuarts Draft; two brothers, Bill Hamilton of South Carolina and Sam Hamilton of Verona; a sister, Peg Hamilton Reed of Verona; two grandchildren, Rachel Price (husband Matthew) and David Liptrap; and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Price.

A private burial service was held in Green Hill Cemetery, Churchville.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28 at Bear Funeral Home.
