Margaret May Hypes

Margaret C. Hypes, 89, of Waynesboro, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Royal Care at Birch Ridge Assisted Living. She was born in Bedford County, Virginia, on October 18, 1934, a daughter of the late Albert and Clare (Wilkes) Creasy.

Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and cooking for her family. She attended Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Hypes; five sisters, and two brothers; her son-in-law, David Jordan and her granddaughter-in-law, Kelsey Hypes.

Survivors include her children, Stan Hypes and wife, Debbie of Staunton and Zoe Jordan of Currituck, North Carolina; grandchildren, Eric and wife, Lindsey, Cameron and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Harley Ann, Madison, Sawyer and Morgan; as well as extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro conducted by Pastor Mike Woods. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.

At Margaret’s request there will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, P. O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939 or Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren, 19 Browns Lane, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
