Margaret Geisert
Margaret Sprinkel Geisert of Keezletown VA passed away August 8, 2024, at age 76 while a resident of Bridgewater Home.
She is survived by her husband: Gregory Wayne Geisert, son: Joel F. Geisert (wife: Danielle), daughter: Emily G. Larson (husband: David, children: Jack, Benjamin, Ryan, Annabelle, Samuel, Wren), son: Daniel G. Geisert (wife: Julia, children: Will, Erin), brother: James G. (Jim) Sprinkel, sister-in-law: Selah Sprinkel (wife of late Bill Sprinkel), brother: Frank C. Sprinkel (wife: Annette) brother-in-law: Bradley K. Geisert (wife: Ellen), brother-in-law Todd Geisert (wife: Cynthia) She was preceded in death by her father: H. Gordon Sprinkel, mother: Esther Kagey Sprinkel, brother: William F. (Bill) Sprinkel, sister-in-law Linda Baer Sprinkel (wife of Jim), father-in-law: Wayne F Geisert, mother-in-law: Ellen Maurine Geisert.
She was born February 1, 1948 in Harrisonburg VA, grew up in the Mole Hill area of Dayton Virginia, completed Dayton Elementary, Turner Ashby High School, and Madison College (now James Madison University). She taught middle school English early in her career before turning to her life's work of caring for others - Children, Grandchildren, Family, and Friends.
Horses have been Margaret's passion her entire life. She rode as a child and founded the horseback riding facility at Keezlenutten Farm in 1989, which continues today under the leadership of Danielle and Joel. She was an accomplished artist, focusing on landscapes, horses, and scenes from the Shenandoah Valley in oil, acrylic, and pastel. She painted signs for day camp and murals in the children's area at Mill Creek Church of the Brethren depicting children coming to Jesus and Noah's Ark. Margaret enjoyed music and was involved with the Praise Team and the Chancel Choir at Mill Creek Church of the Brethren.
Visitation with the family will be at Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service in Bridgewater, Virginia on Wednesday August 14, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Mill Creek Church of the Brethren, Port Republic, VA on Thursday August 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastors Glenn Bollinger and Ryan McAllister.
