Lucy Wilson (Redifer) Toombs

Lucy Wilson (Redifer) Toombs, 99, of Mount Solon, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

Lucy was born on November 14, 1925, and was a daughter of the late Roy G. and Esther (Hatter) Redifer.

Lucy was an inspiration to so many people. She had a strong love for her family, was always faithful and knew how to be a good friend. She was witty and funny, and loved painting, traveling and craft shows.

On June 3, 1944, Lucy was united in marriage to Alvin Leroy Toombs, who preceded her in death on November 23, 2011.

Lucy is survived by daughter, Sherri Swecker, of Mount Solon; grandchildren, Michelle Skinner and husband Ted, Lee Swecker and wife Jennifer, and Rachel Tutwiler and husband Christopher; great grandchildren, Zachary Krumm, Tallen Martin, Haven Shull, Ellison Tutwiler, Chapman Tutwiler, Joseph Skinner, Dash Swecker, Kerrigan Tutwiler, and Bowman Tutwiler; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughters, Jo Ellen Shifflett and Sue Gail Toombs.

A service celebrating Lucy's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Mount Olivet United Brethren Church with Pastor Todd Lilley officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Church Cemetery.
