Lucinda "Cindy" Lee Heatwole

Lucinda "Cindy" Lee Heatwole, 74 , of Bridgewater, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025.

She was born on May 15, 1951, and was a daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Garth) Heatwole.

Cindy grew up in Spring Creek, graduated from Turner Ashby High School in 1969 and went on to complete her nursing degree at the RMH School of Nursing. She devoted more than 35 years to nursing, retiring as the Assistant Director of the Operating Room at RMH. Outside of work, Cindy spent her Saturday mornings with her trivia breakfast group and enjoyed swimming at the wellness center. She was also a lover of animals and an avid gardner.

She is survived by two children, Kelley (Tim) Thompson, and Travis (Mandi) Long; a sister, Beth Heatwole; grandchildren, Jenna (fiancé, Sean Campbell) Long, Drew Thompson, Ethan Long, Brooke Thompson, Ella Arehart, and Brady Thompson; and special cousins, Ann Healy, and Catana Fulk.

A service celebrating Cindy's life will be held 11 AM on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service in Bridgewater, with Pastor Glenn Bollinger officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bridgewater Rescue Squad and/or the Harrisonburg/Rockingham SPCA.
