Larry "Buck" Wayne Robinson
Larry Wayne “Buck” Robinson, 84, husband of Anna Jane Robinson, of Staunton, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025 at his residence.
Buck was born on September 27, 1940 in Staunton, Virginia, a son of the late Brown W. Robinson and Lela (Hardy) Robinson.
Buck was a long time member of Olivet Presbyterian Church serving as elder and trustee. He was a member of the Staunton Augusta Rescue Squad serving as vice president, secretary, Jr. Squad advisor, and fund drive chairman, and a member of the Staunton Elks BPO #351. He also served on the board of Martha’s Meals on Wheels. Buck spent 44 years in the sporting goods business, having started with Pres Brown, Inc. of Lexington, Virginia and later owner and operator of First Team Sports, Inc.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Becky Robinson of 38 years; son-in-law, Greg Balsley; and a brother, B. W. Robinson and step-son, Richard McGlothlin.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Pam Garten and Dania Balsley, of Staunton; grandchildren, Bryce Balsley, Krissi Byrd (Thomas), Tyler Balsley, and Lela Garten (Nathan); great-grandchildren, Norah and Statler Byrd; a brother, Dick Robinson (Sherrill) of Staunton; a special niece and nephew, Sarah Balsley and Richard Robinson; a step-daughter in law, Sharon McGlothlin and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Olivet Presbyterian Church by Pastor Lee Thomas.
He will be laid to rest after the service in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Robinson, Mitch Madden, Kevin Madden, Tony Bryant, Jarrett Hatcher, and Brandon Hatcher.
Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Madden.
The family would like to express our love and appreciation to Daddy’s special caregiver, Betty Ingram, who meant the world to him. Also a huge “Thank You” to Mary and L’Oreal with Augusta Hospice. They went above and beyond for Daddy and his family.
